Accountemps/AICPA Scholarship (Graduate or Undergraduate, $2,500)
This scholarship is available to full-time undergraduate or graduate students at regionally accredited institutions in the United States. Applicants must be U.S. citizens. Those persons who are already CPAs are not eligible for this scholarship. Eligibility requirements differ by academic level, and the application procedures are lengthy, so please call and request these instructions and an application. The AICPA cannot process and must destroy incomplete or incorrectly submitted applications.
The amount of the scholarship is $2,500 for one year. Recipients are selected by the Scholarship Selection Committee. The selection is based on demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, leadership and future career interests. This scholarship program does not discriminate against students on the basis of sex, race, age, color, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or national and ethnic origin in the selection of students. American Chemical Society Scholars Program
The American Chemical Society provides scholarships for qualified applicants who want to enter the fields of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other chemically-related fields such as Environmental Science, Materials Science, or Toxicology.
To qualify, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- African-American, Hispanic/Latino, or American Indian;
- a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.;
- a full-time student at an accredited college, university, or community college;
- high academic achievers in Chemistry or Science (GPA of 3.0 or higher);
- able to demonstrate evidence of financial need according to FAFSA;
- a high school senior, college freshman, sophomore, or junior intending to or already majoring in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or a chemically-related science and planning a career in the chemical sciences or chemical technology.
NOTE: Students planning careers in medicine or pharmacy are not eligible for this program.

The National Center for Learning Disabilities, Inc. (NCLD) is seeking applicants for The Anne Ford Scholarship. The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship covers tuition, fees, books, and room and board up to a maximum of $7,500 per year. Applicants must intend to pursue careers in Math, Science, or Engineering. (Students who plan on studying medicine are only eligible if they intend to pursue a career in medical research.) Candidates must have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and be in the upper quartile of his or her class. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, resident aliens, or nationals. This scholarship aims to diversify and expand participation in international study by supporting students who have been traditionally underrepresented in study abroad. Through a competitive selection process, awards of up to $5,000 are made for U.S. citizen, undergraduate students to study abroad for up to one academic year. The award may be used for tuition and fees, room and board, books, local transportation, health insurance and international airfare. Candidates must be undergraduate students at a U.S. 2-year or 4-year college or university and currently receiving the Federal Pell Grant at the time of application. American Cancer Society
Some divisions of the American Cancer Society offer college scholarships for pediatric cancer survivors. The Young Cancer Survivor Scholarships are restricted to students within the states served by the division, and details vary from division to division. Several hundred scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 are awarded each year. Tim & Tom Gullikson Foundation
The Tim & Tom Gullikson Foundation awards scholarships for families affected by brain tumors, whether the recipient is a patient, survivor, or immediate relative of one. The award is granted based on financial need, with special consideration given to members of the tennis community. The foundation awards a maximum of $25,000 in scholarships annually. The Ryan Mullaly Second Chance Fund
The Ryan Mullaly Second Chance Fund offers a $1,000 scholarship for cancer survivors. Patient Advocate Foundation
The Patient Advocate Foundation awards eight Scholarships for Survivors of $5,000 per year for cancer survivors to initiate or complete a course of study that has been interrupted or delayed by a diagnosis of cancer or other life-threatening, chronic or debilitating disease. Children of Breast Cancer Scholarships

Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
The Susan G. Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship
The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarships are open to U.S. high school seniors who have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. A total of 250 scholarships are awarded each year, with 50 National Scholars receiving $20,000 scholarships and 200 Regional Scholars receiving $4,000 scholarships. Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI)

David W. Miller, a senior writer at The Chronicle of Higher Education, was killed at the age of 35 by a drunken driver in January 2002. Mr. Miller's outstanding career was distinguished by two hallmarks: his insatiable curiosity about people and the world of ideas, and his love for precise and evocative writing.
With this award, now in its second year, The Chronicle seeks to pay tribute to Mr. Miller and to identify and nurture future generations of student journalists who are as interested in big ideas and excellent writing as he was.
The award consists of a $2,000 prize and a certificate, and is presented annually. The deadline for submissions is June 30, 2005, and the winner will be announced in the fall.
Candidates may apply for the award by submitting up to three samples of published work accompanied by a one-page letter describing the articles and why they were chosen for submission.
The samples of published work must have appeared in a campus publication during the 2004-05 academic year. Each piece of writing should be journalistic, using expository, explanatory, narrative, or other techniques to report evenhandedly on a topic of intellectual interest. Examples include a new trend, discovery, or theory; an important scholarly debate; an issue with both scholarly and public-policy implications; or a researcher who is as interesting as his or her scholarship. Applicants may bolster their candidacies by submitting articles on a variety of topics or in a range of genres.
Opinion essays, personal columns, scholarly or research papers, and articles that present the author's own research findings are ineligible.
Candidates for the award must have been undergraduate students at the time their articles were published. Applicants may be students in any country, but their submissions must be in English.

The Elks National Foundation "Most Valuable Student" Competition awards 500 four-year scholarships to high school seniors. U.S. citizenship is required. The FEEA Scholarship Program is for current civilian federal employees and their dependent family members (spouse/child.) The Gates Millennium Scholarship program is sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and administered by the United Negro College Fund. Nomination by a professional educator (principal, teacher, guidance counselor, etc.) is required. The focus of this program is on students who will be pursuing careers in mathematics, science, engineering, education, or library science. Glamour's Top 10 College Women Competition
Any woman who is currently a full-time junior at an accredited college or university in the U.S. or Canada for the 2005-2006 academic year is eligible to enter. The Harry S. Truman Scholarships are open to college juniors who are U.S. citizens and nationals and who want to go to graduate school in preparation for a career in public service (government of the nonprofit and advocacy sectors). The scholarship consists of a $26,000 grant. Truman Scholars are selected on the basis of their potential as future "change agents" who will improve the ways public entities serve the public good. Hispanic Scholarship Fund
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund Program will be accepting applications for scholarships for the 2011-2010 academic year beginning September 1st, 2010 (see website for specific opening and closing dates).

The Pilot International Foundation sponsors three scholarship programs: The PIF/Lifeline Scholarship, The Marie Newton Sepia Memorial Scholarship, and the Pilot International Foundation Scholarship. The Ron Brown Scholar Program seeks to identify African-American high school seniors who will make significant contributions to society. SWE Scholarships
The SWE Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to women admitted to accredited baccalaureate or graduate programs, in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and computer science. In fiscal year 2004, SWE disbursed more than 130 new and renewed scholarships valued at more than $250,000.
Grants are announced in the late spring (sophomore, junior, senior and graduate students) and late summer/early fall (freshmen and reentry students) for use during the following academic year. Grant payments are made in the fall for corporate-sponsored scholarships and in both the fall and spring for endowed scholarships, upon proof of registration.

The TIAA-CREF Ruth Simms Hamilton Research Fellowship was established to honor the pioneering work of the late Dr. Ruth Simms Hamilton, Michigan State University Professor and TIAA Trustee. The fellowship, administered by the TIAA-CREF Institute, will be awarded for graduate-level research related to the study of the African Diaspora by graduate students enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university. The fellowship will be for one year and students may reapply for the fellowship each year that the program is offered.

Scholarships
A one year scholarship from the Truckload Carriers Association will be awarded on a per-semester basis to be automatically renewed for the second semester upon recommendation of the University and showing of good academic standing by the recipient. The total amount of the scholarship will be between $1,500 to $3,000.
Any college junior or senior in good standing, who is the child, grandchild, or spouse of an employee or an employee of a trucking company, or the child, grandchild or spouse of an independent contractor or an independent contractor affiliated with a trucking company and attending an accredited four-year college or university is eligible for a scholarship.
The recipient of the scholarship must show financial need, excellent scholastic achievement in the freshman and sophomore years (minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA required), maintain full-time student status and be an individual of high character and integrity. Those students pursuing transportation and business degrees will be given special consideration. The scholarship will be awarded without regard to sex, race, color, national origin or religion.

Applicants to the Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund must
- Be women currently residing in the United States;
- Be women who have earned a high school diploma or their GED on or before September 1995;
- Be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full- or part-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school;
- Be attending the full 2005-2006 academic year and receiving a degree no earlier than May 2006; and
- Have at least 2 semesters (24 credit hours or more) remaining to complete their undergraduate* degree as of the beginning of the 2005 fall academic term.
*Students who have previously obtained a bachelor's degree are not eligible to apply.

To qualify for consideration for these scholarships, a student must:
- Plan to enroll or are enrolled in full- or half-time undergraduate or full-time graduate- or professional-degree coursework at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school. GED recipients also are eligible. Students must plan to enroll or be enrolled through Feb. 1, 2009.
- Have an annual adjusted gross family income of $35,000 or less, as documented on a 2007 federal income-tax return on which the applicant is claimed as a federal tax exemption.
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen. Students studying in the U.S. on an F1 visa are not eligible. Eligible non-citizens must be permanent U.S. resident aliens with a Green Card, or refugees with a Departure Record (Form I-94) from the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service showing one of the following designations:
- Refugee.
- Asylum granted.
- Alien paroled into the United States for at least one year.
- Alien granted a stay of deportation due to fear of persecution on account of race, religion or political opinion.
- Conditional entrant (if I-94 was issued before April 1980).
- Are not currently in default on a federal education loan.
