Academic Scholarships and Grants

Merit-based Tuition scholarships are awarded to full-time entering students by the Office of University Admissions. Merit-based awards are applied to tuition only. If another source pays full tuition, the merit-based award is cancelled.

Mercer University funds are renewed for a total of 8 semesters and are not available for summer semester.

Mercer scholarships and grants require full-time enrollment (at least 12 hours) unless the student is in his/her last semester before graduating and the remaining courses required in their program total less than 12 hours

If a student is approved for less-than-full-time enrollment, any original Mercer scholarship or grant awarded to the student is pro-rated based on the number of hours enrolled. The proration is based on Mercer tuition costs. Mercer’s tuition is based on a 15 hour enrollment. All students enrolled 12 -18 hours are charged full-tuition (15 hours X per credit hour fee). Mercer scholarships are prorated by the same ratio. For example, a $10,000 scholarship prorated for 8 hours enrollment would calculate as the following:

$10,000 /15 hours = 666.6 which results in 8 hours X 667 = $5,336
